Tara Eberhard was a top ranked snowboarder at the time. She attended the Stratton Mountain School where she trained daily - in alpine skiing. Eberhard followed a common narrative and converted to snowboarding. Eberhard “got bored with skiing” and she “wanted to do something different.”[i] She was a role model for young female snowboarders. Eberhard felt that snowboarding “was wide open for women “and ideal for “women who like to be different and stand out in a crowd.”[ii]
