Suzi Rueck, a graduate of the Stratton Mountain School, developed Stratton’s snowboard program, the Allegro Program, in 1989. During her tenure, riders such as Tricia Byrnes, Doug Byrnes, Jay Fusco, Ross Powers and Russell Winfield passed through the weekend based program. She was also joined by Doug Scanlon, Kurt Meyer and Brew Moscarello. They spent the mornings running gates and then headed to the halfpipe in the afternoon. Every now and then, she had the riders hike to the top before the lifts opened. Since she made them hike without their boards, they did not get the reward of riding down.
