Lyle Blaisdell(l) and PJ Johnston (r). Johnston was instrumental in getting snowboards allowed on the lifts and both were key to building the first halfpipe at Stratton. Johnston hires Blaisdell and his excavator to shape the pipe, long before Pipe Dragons.

The Stratton Mtn half pipe was initially dug during the summer, which proved to be disaster towards the end of the season when it was full of mud.
